Sauna transparent floating alone at sea

Relaxing in a hot sauna and then take a dip in the cold water is common practice in many corners of the globe. Doing this in the middle of the sea, surrounded by mountains, in a transparent box that leaves everything on display is a bit more rare. But there is one place where this is possible: the stunning rural village of Rosendal, on the west coast of Norway.

Anchored in front of a beautiful fjord (almost) desert, the Rosendal floating sauna is public. Inside, the heat can reach over 30 ° C, a true gift from the gods in a region known for its low temperatures hitting 20 ° C below zero. To get there, just rowing boat, swim or even, as in this specific point in Norwegian coastal sea never freezes, even during the harsh winter.

With 25 m² total (counting the floating dock) and 9 m² of internal area, the sauna was constructed on land and then carried into the water, where it remains docked. Its structure is composed of plastic walls, benches pine wood, rocks, barrels of oil lamps and old. The interior of the sauna even has a kind of floor water, ideal for those looking to cool off without exit "box" (not that it makes much difference with all this transparency ...)

On environmental issues, it is forbidden to use any kind of soap inside. At night, the floating sauna gives a special touch to the village around - bright, shining like a lantern floating, reflecting off the water.
